Atlantic Technological University (ATU) was officially established in April 2022 as Ireland’s fourth university of technology. It received full accreditation from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in 2026, having previously earned full accreditation from the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland (RIAI), making it the only architecture degree program in Ireland to hold both of these top-tier international accreditations. ATU’s nine campuses are spread across Ireland’s scenic west coast. From Letterkenny in Donegal to Galway City, and on to Castlebar in County Mayo and the St. Angela’s Campus in Roscommon, each location boasts unique natural landscapes and cultural heritage. The Letterkenny campus, nestled between the beach and the mountains along Ireland’s renowned “Wild Atlantic Way,” is ideal for students who love the outdoors; the Galway campus, meanwhile, is situated in a vibrant student city that hosts a variety of music festivals and arts events throughout the year.
