International Collaboration and Exchange
Boise State University broadens the global perspective of its faculty and students through diverse international cooperation programs. In November 2025, the university hosted a group of young athletes from six countries—Italy, the Philippines, Serbia, Tunisia, and Uruguay—through the adaptive sports program of the College of Kinesiology. These athletes participated in wheelchair tennis experiences, campus tours, and exchanges with Boise State’s Division I athletes, witnessing firsthand how sports transcend cultural and linguistic barriers.
On a deeper academic level, the university secured funding from the U.S. Department of State’s IDEAS program through its Global Engagement Center to support faculty in developing future overseas study initiatives. In Spring 2026, three faculty members will participate in a Mozambique-focused workshop, followed by a two-week immersive field study in May of that year to prepare for a student program slated to launch in Spring 2027. This faculty-led exploratory model ensures the quality and cultural depth of future student study abroad experiences.
Additionally, the university offers flexible online programs in fields like education and engineering for international students, with some programs requiring a minimum TOEFL score of 80 or IELTS score of 6.5.
