Academic Requirements: Direct undergraduate admission requires a high school average of 75% or above and a Gaokao score of 70% or above. Alternatively, students may transfer after one year at another university or complete a one-year university foundation or diploma program if high school qualifications are insufficient.

 

Popular programs like Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Engineering require Gaokao scores exceeding 70% of the provincial first-tier university cutoff, along with proof of Mathematics and Physics grades.

Language Requirements: Undergraduate programs generally require an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher (some programs require 6.5 or 7.0). Pre-sessional language training at the university or other institutions is also available. Popular programs such as Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science require an IELTS score of 6.5 (with no band below 6.0).

For postgraduate applications: Taught master’s programs require an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher (some programs require 7.0 or 7.5 or higher), along with a bachelor’s degree, an honors degree, or substantial work experience. Research-based master’s and doctoral programs require an IELTS score of 7.0 (some programs require 7.5 or higher), typically with a prerequisite taught master’s degree.
