All international undergraduate applicants, upon submitting their application materials, do not need to fill out any additional forms; the system will automatically assess eligibility for admission scholarships based on high school grade point averages (GPAs), and award results will be issued simultaneously with the admission offer. Applicants with a high school GPA of 95% or higher will automatically receive a full tuition scholarship; those with a GPA of 90% to 94% will receive $4,500 CAD annually; those with a GPA of 85% to 89% will receive $3,500 CAD annually; those with a GPA between 80% and 84% receive a scholarship of CAD 2,500 per year. All scholarships are renewable for up to four years. The university has ranked first among Canadian universities in scholarship coverage for 20 consecutive years.
International Student Admission and Tuition
Trent University maintains an open admission policy for international students. Undergraduate applicants must submit a high school diploma and transcripts with a minimum average of 70% (with no less than 70% in English). Language requirements are an IELTS score of 6.5 (with no band below 6.0) or a TOEFL iBT score of 86. The average annual tuition for international undergraduates is approximately CAD 32,993, with a median total cost of study of approximately CAD 24,500.
Paid Co-op and Industry Partnerships: A Career Support System Integrated Throughout Your Studies
Trent University deeply integrates practical education into its academic curriculum. Its School of Business and Department of Economics offer employers two full-time, paid recruitment pathways: Co-op placements and internships, with students working across various professional fields including accounting, human resources, marketing, finance, and economics. The Co-op program is structured to alternate with academic terms throughout the degree program. Students complete three 4-month full-time work terms, totaling up to 12 months of work experience. Placement opportunities span across Canada, allowing students to accumulate over 1,000 hours of industry experience before formally entering the workforce.
Trent University has also launched the “New Apprenticeship Program,” which selects 10 humanities and social sciences undergraduates each year to participate in a 12-month paid apprenticeship with 10 local companies, facilitating their transition from “graduates” to “prospective employees” through real-world project experience. Students who complete their applications and pay the deposit by the deadline are guaranteed on-campus housing, and over 1,000 current students have gained initial work experience through on-campus jobs.

Programs such as Nursing and Physical Sciences boast a 100% employment rate, while the Agriculture and Biosciences program achieves a 96% employment rate within two years.
