According to the 2026 QS World University Rankings, AUB is ranked 237th globally, a rise of 13 places from the previous year, firmly maintaining its position as the top university in Lebanon and retaining the top spot in the country for the sixth consecutive year. In 2025, AUB’s medical discipline achieved its highest-ever ranking, placing 132nd globally. In the field of sustainability, AUB ranks 176th globally and remains firmly in first place in the MENA region. The AUB campus is situated on the northern slope of the Beirut Headland, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, in a picturesque setting. The university has been co-educational since 1922, and currently maintains an equal ratio of male and female students, reflecting its educational philosophy of inclusivity and equality. AUB boasts a robust global alumni network, with graduates playing significant roles across various industries. In 2014, the first Chinese student graduated from AUB, and that same year, the university received accreditation from the Chinese Ministry of Education, ensuring that its degrees are widely recognized in China.
Regarding admissions, applicants to AUB’s undergraduate programs must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.6, and achieve a TOEFL score of at least 90 or an IELTS score of at least 6.5. Graduate applicants must hold a relevant bachelor’s degree, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.7, and achieve an overall IELTS score of at least 6.0; some programs also require GRE or GMAT scores. Tuition for the MBA program is approximately $40,000; including living expenses, the estimated total cost for the entire program ranges from $70,000 to $80,000.
