Lebanese International University (LIU) was founded in April 2001, originally under the name “Bekaa University,” by Lebanese philanthropist and former Minister of Defense and Education Abdul Rahim Mourad. The university primarily uses English as the language of instruction** and, guided by its motto “Building a Better Future Together,” is committed to providing high-quality private higher education to students in Lebanon and the Middle East.

LIU operates 9 campuses across Lebanon, including Beirut, Bekaa, Saida, Nabatieh, Mount Lebanon, Tripoli, Tyre, Riyaq, and Harba-Akkar. Five Colleges and Flagship Programs
LIU comprises five colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering, the College of Business, the College of Pharmacy, and the College of Education. Its flagship programs are concentrated in the fields of engineering, computer science, health sciences, business, and education. Pharmacy and biomedical sciences attract a large number of students and are the university’s flagship programs. The university employs a student-centered, modular teaching approach.
