Two World Number One Achievements: Twelve Consecutive Titles in Education and Supreme Status in Architecture
UCL’s disciplinary strength is nothing short of ‘dominant’. Since 2014, the Faculty of Education has been ranked number one in the world for 12 consecutive years in the QS Subject Rankings, and is hailed as the world’s premier institution for education. The Bartlett School of Architecture has also retained its position as the world’s number one for the third consecutive year. In the 2025 QS Subject Rankings, UCL had 20 subjects ranked in the world’s top 20; all 46 subjects entered for assessment were included in the rankings, with 42 of them ranked in the world’s top 50. Ranked 3rd globally in Archaeology, 3rd in Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 4th in Geography and 4th in Anthropology – from the humanities and social sciences to engineering and medicine, UCL’s academic scope is vast and its strength formidable, making it a force to be reckoned with on the global stage.

Graduate salaries 20% above the national average: solid proof of employability
UCL graduates are highly sought after by employers worldwide. In the 2026 QS Rankings, UCL achieved an employer reputation score of 99.4 out of 100. The median starting salary for undergraduate graduates is £36,000, 20 per cent higher than the UK national average. Master’s graduates in Computer Science earn an average annual salary of £53,000 within 15 months of graduation, whilst those with a Master’s in Computational Finance earn as much as £58,000. Ninety per cent of graduates are successfully employed or pursuing further study within 15 months of completing their degree.
Four hundred student societies and a ‘living laboratory’
Beyond the classroom, UCL offers students a wealth of opportunities for personal development. The Students’ Union runs over 400 student societies and sports clubs. In terms of sustainability, UCL has published its Sustainability Plan for 2025–2035, committing to achieving net-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 and transforming the campus into a ‘living laboratory’.
