From a disciplinary perspective, TUKE’s Mining and Mineral Engineering program ranked between 76th and 100th globally in the 2025 Shanghai Ranking, making it the only university in Slovakia to break into the world’s top 100 in this field. Chemical Engineering ranked 203rd globally, Civil Engineering ranked 172nd globally, and the overall score for the engineering field was 32.9 points.

TUKE currently has approximately 8,728 full-time students, including 5,293 undergraduates, 3,435 master’s students, and 672 doctoral students. TUKE offers highly competitive tuition rates for international students, with annual fees for undergraduate and master’s programs ranging from 1,800 to 4,500 euros. For programs such as the Bachelor of Informatics and the Bachelor of Automotive Production Technology, annual tuition is only around 3,500 euros. Furthermore, the cost of living in Košice is significantly lower than in Western European countries, and well-equipped campus facilities—including dormitories and dining halls—help alleviate financial pressure on students.
